Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Sunnyvale, CA seeks Principal/Sr. Principal Manufacturing Engineers to design and optimize manufacturing processes and tooling, collaborating with machinists, assembly, welders, and engineers.

The role involves ensuring quality, process control, and regulatory compliance. The position requires a Bachelor's (or Master's) in engineering with 5+ (or 3+) years of relevant experience, the ability to read drawings, and eligibility to obtain a US Government Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Ability to start work at 6:00am Monday through Friday.
• Ability to obtain a US Government Secret clearance.
• US Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Develop new processes, improve existing manufacturing processes, and develop the required tooling and fixtures with an excellent team of experienced machinists, assembly mechanics, welders and engineers.
• May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan. Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
• Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control and may develop those techniques.
• Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
