Job summary

RTX in Huntsville, Alabama, is seeking an FPGA Engineer I to contribute to FPGA design for weapon system products. You will work on production releases, collaborate across disciplines, and help establish verification plans for reliable embedded processing across device families from AMD to Altera and Microchip.

The role emphasizes design, coding in VHDL, and rigorous verification, with clear documentation and cross-functional teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with less than 2 years of experience.
• Experience in at least 3 of the following: digital design/HDL, FPGA solutions, FPGA device brands (Altera, Lattice, Microchip, AMD), test/measurement and timing, digital simulation (Questa/RivieraPro), Python or C.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver production quality FPGA releases from initial concept to production.
• Collaborate with systems, hardware, software engineers, and program management for success.
• Design and code in VHDL for reliability, maintainability, and reusability.
• Verify designs with directed and constrained random tests and measure coverage.
• Create documentation including requirements, verification plan, user guides, and CM.
• Provide design support from requirements through integration and test.
• Participate in internal and external technical reviews.
