Job summary

Citigroup Inc. is seeking a hands-on Principal Engineer to design, build, and evolve high-quality Java software products at global scale.

You will mentor engineers, influence architecture, and contribute across teams in a hybrid environment in Irving, TX, with flexibility to work from other locations. You will leverage experience in cloud-native development, microservices, RESTful APIs, and GraphQL, applying best practices in agile delivery, testing, and code quality to drive measurable business

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field; Master’s preferred.
6+ years of software engineering with Java in production.
Experience with cloud-native development, microservices, and REST/GraphQL architectures.

Responsibilities

Design and build high-quality full-stack features using Java across multiple agile teams.
Collaborate with Principal Engineers to shape system architecture for scalability and resilience.
Deliver code and participate in planning, reviews, and Scrum ceremonies.
