Job summary

Citi, a global bank, is seeking a Lead Java Developer (Vice President) to guide architecture and delivery of scalable enterprise systems. You will combine hands-on Java 17+ development with technical leadership, code reviews, and governance across agile teams.

Responsibilities include designing microservices with Spring Boot 3.x, Kafka event streams, Oracle database tuning, secure REST/async APIs, and cloud-native deployment with Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.

Qualifications

• 6-10 years of software engineering experience in enterprise apps.
• Proficient with Java 17+ and modern Spring Boot.
• Experience with Kafka and cloud-native microservices.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle DB and SQL/PLSQL.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools.
• Solid testing with JUnit 5, Mockito, and Testcontainers.

Responsibilities

• Lead a pod of engineers; conduct code reviews and set engineering standards.
• Drive sprint planning, backlog grooming, and technical risk assessment.
• Champion test-driven development and GenAI-powered productivity tools.
