Job summary

RTX is seeking a Principal Engineer - Solid Propulsion in Tucson, AZ. The role focuses on propulsion system integration for missile and space vehicle programs, coordinating with production and subcontractors, and presenting technical capabilities to management and government agencies.

Applicants must have a STEM degree with extensive propulsion experience and be eligible for a DoD security clearance. Travel, including international, may be required; relocation is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) required; 8+ years of relevant experience. Advanced degree may substitute experience.
• Experience in development of solid propulsion systems.

Responsibilities

• Apply or develop advanced technologies for propulsion system integration into missile systems and space vehicles.
• Involvement with development and production programs across Raytheon Product Lines.
• Review manufacturing processes and coordinate with subcontractors on design and manufacturing of solid rocket motor propulsion systems.
• Lead technical presentations to management and government agencies.
• Interface with customers to identify user needs and support supplier relationships.
