Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (STEM).
  • 4+ years in materials/process engineering with emphasis on machining operations.
  • 2+ years with aluminum, steel, titanium and nickel aerospace alloys.
  • Hands‑on machining knowledge: grinding, milling, shot‑peening, EDM, CPM, non‑conventional machining.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise and support in materials/process engineering, focusing on machining operations.
  • Support aerospace gas turbine engine products used for propulsion and auxiliary power.
  • Collaborate with machining suppliers and Honeywell engineering teams to deliver customer‑focused solutions.
  • Lead or participate in machining process audits and supplier development activities.
  • Report to Senior Engineering Manager and travel 10–20% nationally/internationally.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise and support in materials and process engineering, emphasizing machining operations and processes
  • Support new and existing aerospace gas turbine engine products used for propulsion and auxiliary power
  • Support materials and processes involved in the design, manufacture, and machining of parts
  • Interact regularly with internal and external machining suppliers to resolve issues
  • Collaborate across Honeywell Aerospace engineering teams to create customer-focused solutions and systems
  • Participate in all phases of product development
  • Serve as a technical point of contact for less experienced engineers
  • Liaise between machining suppliers and Honeywell Engineering, Quality, Supplier Development Engineers, and Integrated Supply Chain
  • Report directly to the Senior Engineering Manager
  • May occasionally lift 35 pounds in a single lift
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
  • 4 or more years of experience in materials/process engineering with an emphasis on machining operations
  • 2 or more years experience with aluminum, steel, titanium and nickel aerospace alloys
  • Understanding and hands‑on experience in machining operations/processes, including grinding, milling, shot‑peening, EDM, controlled process machining, and non‑conventional machining
  • Familiarity with industrial materials and processing specifications
  • Familiarity with Nadcap and industry standards, requirements and approvals
  • Capability to assess new suppliers and determine their strengths and weaknesses
  • Experience conducting machining process audits
  • Experience working with and developing machining suppliers
  • Understanding engineering drawings and requirements
  • Experience with Six Sigma, Lean and other process improvement tools
  • Must be a U.S. Person under U.S. export control laws, or have the ability to obtain export authorization
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis
  • Approximately 10–20% national and international travel
