Job summary

Steer is seeking a Principal Engineer, Agentic AI to join the Core Platform Team and lead the architectural direction for AI-first automation across the CRM platform.

You’ll own end-to-end technical strategy, design reusable components, and drive production deployments of autonomous AI-powered workflows. This role is 100% remote within the United States and offers equity and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience building complex, web-based SaaS products.
• All-in mindset with ownership and accountability.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs and prompt engineering.
• Experience deploying AI-powered features and autonomous workflows in production.
• Experience integrating AI tooling into CI/CD pipelines.
• Database expertise with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis.
• Excellent communication to translate technical concepts into product outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Technical Strategy & Ownership of core components of the Steer CRM.
• Architectural Vision for reusable full-stack components and services.
• Adaptive Development across new integrations and core infrastructure.
• Partner with Product to align architecture with user needs.
• Code Excellence in security, test automation, and maintainability.
• Shape Modern DevOps & agentic infrastructure (Docker, Kubernetes, IaC).
