Job summary

Steer, a leader in automotive repair software, seeks a Principal Full Stack Engineer to guide the Core Platform Team. You will own architectural decisions, drive AI-enabled workflows, and deliver scalable, high-impact features across the CRM stack.

You will collaborate with product, design, and engineering to ship powerful capabilities, mentor peers, and help Steer capture a larger share of the auto-repair market from a fully remote position in the United States.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience building complex, web-based SaaS products.
• A deep commitment to Steer’s mission and ownership of projects.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs and prompt engineering.
• Experience deploying AI-powered features and autonomous workflows in production.
• Experience integrating AI tooling into CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with leadership.

Responsibilities

• Focus on core components of Steer CRM and optimize data ingestion/processing.
• Lead design of reusable full‑stack components and services for scalable growth.
• Pivot development based on evolving business needs and new integrations.
• Partner with Product to align architectural decisions with user needs.
• Champion security, test automation, and maintainability through code reviews.
• Shape AI-enabled, agentic infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
