Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to set the technical direction for engineering platforms that deliver embedded software for software-defined vehicles. You will influence architecture across embedded, cloud, and validation domains and align senior leadership on strategic priorities.

You will lead a cross-functional team of engineers, define roadmaps, and drive adoption of scalable platforms, CI/CD, and secure delivery practices across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
• 15+ years in software/embedded systems with architecture leadership.
• Strong experience with CI/CD, cloud, and embedded platforms.

Responsibilities

• Define multi-year architecture and roadmap for cross-domain platforms.
• Lead architecture reviews and governance for scalable engineering platforms.
• Advise executives on tradeoffs between cost, quality, and enterprise value.
