Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Principal or Sr. Principal Embedded Software Engineer to join the San Diego team. You will design, develop, integrate, and test embedded software for end-user customers, focusing on Link-16/tactical datalink systems, in a collaborative, agile environment.

_segments emphasize real-time embedded development, rigorous lifecycle processes, and the ability to obtain a U.S. government Secret clearance. Onsite work at Rancho Carmel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or another STEM discipline with 5 years of related experience, or Master's with 3 years, or PhD with 1 year
• Proficient in C/C++
• Proficient in Object Oriented programming
• Proficient in all areas of the software lifecycle from requirements to testing
• Experience integrating low-level firmware and software in real-time multi-threaded embedded applications
• Experience with developing and debugging embedded real-time systems
• Familiarity with Static Analysis and Unit Testing
• Experience using Jira/Bitbucket/Git and Agile process
• Experience with Tactical Datalink development
• Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as Tactical Datalink radios/terminals
• Familiarity with Link 16 or TACAN Waveforms
• Familiarity with CORBA
• Familiarity with SCA
• Experience with Software Defined Radios
• Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance
• Ability to work full-time onsite at Rancho Carmel location.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate and test software for end-user customers and businesses focusing on Link-16 or Tactical Datalink software
• Responsible for design, architecture, development, and administration of embedded real-time systems
• Collaborate with Systems Engineering, Digital Engineering, Hardware, and I&T in an Agile environment
• Analyze system capabilities to resolve problems related to program intent and data acquisition
