Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Engineer Software embedded to join our Aeronautics Systems team in El Segundo, CA. The role focuses on embedded software throughout the development lifecycle, collaborating with cross-functional teams onsite.

The position requires a Secret clearance and offers opportunities to work with 5G/next-gen technologies, ML, and cybersecurity in a high-impact research environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM with 5 years of related engineering experience; OR Master’s with 3 years; or PhD with 1 year.
• Experience with the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Background in embedded C/C++ development with OO and thread-safe programming; familiarity with Python.

Responsibilities

• Work all phases of the software development cycle including design, development, integration, and test in a fast-paced environment.
• Conduct peer reviews of software-related products and documents.
• Participate in a cross-functional scrum team with Systems Engineering, Digital Engineering, Hardware, and I&T.
