Job summary
General Motors Africa & Middle East is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to shape and scale engineering platforms for embedded software in software-defined vehicles. You will lead cross-team efforts, architect scalable CI/CD, and drive security, observability, and compliance across pipelines and runtimes.
The role is remote with the expectation to report to a GM hub within the region as needed, and it offers high-impact leadership across multiple domains including tooling, tests, and release
Qualifications
- BS in software engineering or equivalent; 12+ years of software development
- Real-time systems architecture experience
- Experience shipping safety-critical products
Responsibilities
- Lead enterprise-scale CI/CD for embedded, simulation, and cloud workloads.
- Define branching, release, and quality-gate standards across domains.
- Design GitOps-based delivery for multi-cluster Kubernetes environments.
- Lead progressive delivery with automated rollback and analysis.
- Establish IaC architecture using Terraform modules and multi-environment patterns.
- Integrate security and compliance into pipelines and artifact flows.
- Define observability standards for pipelines and runtime systems.
- Mentor DevOps and simulation developers across the organization.
