Job description

What You Will Do
  • Design, analyze, simulate, test, and document power conversion (and related analog) circuitry, focusing on non‑isolated and isolated switch‑mode power converters and linear converters for board‑mounted power end‑use applications.
  • Architect power systems from concept through integration, defining requirements and leading large team efforts.
  • Guide ECAD drafters and junior engineers through layout and routing, defining layer stack‑up and ensuring compliance with creepage and clearance requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership, driving growth for peers and junior engineers, and mature the organization on the technical front.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience **or** an advanced STEM degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Design, analysis, test, and simulation experience with linear converters and at least one of the following non‑isolated topologies: buck, boost, buck‑boost.
  • Experience with at least one isolated converter topology (flyback, half‑bridge, full‑bridge, forward, push‑pull, resonant).
  • Proficiency with MATLAB, MathCAD, Mathematica, or similar tools.
  • Experience with EMI filter design, analysis, test, and/or simulation in power electronics circuits.
  • Experience with transformer or inductor design, analysis, test, and/or simulation in power electronics circuits.
  • Experience creating and utilizing electrical design specifications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Understanding of switching converter control techniques, modes, and stability.
  • Experience leading small teams and collaborating with other team leads toward larger goals.
  • Exposure to managing customer relationships.
  • Strong technical communication skills, including documentation and presentation to upper management.
  • Experience conducting trade studies related to power electronics architecture at the circuit card stack level.
  • Guidance experience for ECAD drafting, layout, and routing for non‑isolated and isolated power electronics.
  • Experience with Texas Instruments C‑2000 family of microcontrollers, Microchip PIC controllers, VHDL, real‑time operating systems, CAN‑bus, UART, and/or RS‑422.
  • Early‑cycle requirements definition and design at the circuit card stack level, considering thermal, structural, mechanical, reliability, and quality concerns.

Salary range: $107,500 – $204,500 USD. Relocation eligibility: Yes.

Work schedule: 9/80 schedule (every other Friday off).
