Job description

Position: Power & Analog Design Engineer II

Location: McKinney, TX, United States. Address: 2501 W University Dr. Wing D Bldg.

Employment Type: Onsite. U.S. citizen required. Security clearance: DoD Secret required at day 1.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with architecture development at the circuit card level.
  • Design, analyze, test, and document analog and power conversion circuitry.
  • Partner with senior engineers and ECAD drafters on stack‑up definition, layout, and routing activities.
  • Support integration and verification activities in engineering laboratories.
  • Provide product test and troubleshooting support.
  • Understand and report execution status to the planned budget and schedule.
  • Engage in professional growth and development.
Qualifications - Required
  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience with non‑isolated converter topologies including buck, boost, or buck‑boost.
  • Experience designing analog electronics (FETs/BJTs, op‑amps, filters, clock/data termination, comparator circuits).
  • Proficiency with simulation tools (MATLAB, MathCAD, Mathematica, or similar).
  • U.S. citizenship; ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
Qualifications - Preferred
  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field (counts as 2 years experience).
  • Design experience with voltages >400V and/or power >10kW.
  • Experience with three‑phase power systems, power factor control, and inverter/rectifier development.
  • Familiarity with military specifications.
  • Experience with circuit simulators (SIMPLIS, SABER) and ECAD tools (Siemens Xpedition: xDX Designer, xPCB Layout, Hyperlynx).
  • Guided ECAD personnel through PWB layout of power circuitry and technical drawing creation.
  • Strong technical communication and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency with lab equipment (power supplies, electronic loads, multimeters, signal sources, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead design efforts or small teams.
