Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead electrical power systems design for municipal water/wastewater projects. The role supports the South Region from Florida, Virginia, Maryland, or Washington, DC.

You will mentor junior engineers, manage budgets and schedules, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver reliable power distribution, motor controls, lighting, and grounding designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida.
• Solid knowledge of National Electrical Code – NFPA 70.
• Experience leading electrical design in water/wastewater projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and mentorship to electrical staff, review work products, and manage junior engineers.
• Manage project budgets and delivery schedules; balance workloads across multiple assignments.
• Coordinate with Control Systems and Process Mechanical teams; develop design criteria and one-line diagrams.
• Perform field inspections, condition assessments, and monitor construction progress to ensure design conformance.
• Utilize ETAP/SKM or similar tools for power systems studies and arc-flash analyses.
• Support business development with scopes, schedules, and budgets for new projects.
