Job summary

Symbotic seeks a Principal Electrical Engineer to drive electrical design for automated material-handling robots and related platforms. You will lead conceptualization, architecture, design, analysis, fabrication, integration, and test of complex electrical systems—from concept to production.

You will set technical direction for other electrical designers and partner with PLM and contract manufacturers to enable volume production, with 10% travel to customer sites and facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 12+ years of electrical design experience, with a record of taking products from concept to production.
• Expertise in Altium schematic capture and strong PCB layout design.
• Expertise in automation robotics and/or automotive platforms — mobile robots, AGVs/AMRs, or automotive electronic systems in harsh environments.
• Demonstrated system-level integration of electronics: interconnect, grounding, power distribution, sensors, and interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical solutions to complex electrical problems at board, harness, and system level including power, sensing, compute, interconnect, grounding, and interfaces.
• Drive designs from concept through production: architecture, schematic, PCB layout, prototype, DVT, design freeze, production release, and sustaining.
• Follow and lead through PDP phase gates, design reviews, requirements, verification, and release discipline.
