Job summary

Symbotic seeks a Staff Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design for complex subsystems and cross-discipline interfaces on automated material-handling robots. You will guide the PDP-driven development from concept through production, partnering with mechanical, firmware, safety, PLM, and contract manufacturers to deliver robust, manufacturable hardware.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 8+ years of electrical design experience, from concept to production.
• Experience with Altium and PCB layout in automated robotics environments.
• Familiar with safety standards in automation/robotics (SIL/ISO 13849/IEC 61508).
• Strong cross-disciplinary collaboration with mechanical/firmware/controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex electrical design across board, harness and subsystem interfaces.
• Drive designs from concept to production with PDP phase-gate awareness.
• Create schematics in Altium and review peer layouts.
• Own stackup, placement, routing, EMC-aware layout and DFM release.
• Coordinate with contract manufacturers for production builds.
• Write requirements and test plans; validate safety and robustness.
• Lead containment and corrective design for issues in lab or field.
