Job summary

Bloom Energy seeks a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design for fuel-cell systems, reporting to the Senior Manager of Electrical Design Engineering. This on-site role is based in San Jose, CA or Newark, DE and requires extensive experience with power systems and code compliance.

You will own installation packages, mentor engineering staff, and act as Engineer of Record where licensed, coordinating with customers, utilities, EPC partners, and suppliers to ensure successful

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Active Professional Engineer license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction; ability to obtain licensure by comity for other states.
• Strong knowledge of low- and medium-voltage systems, switchgear, transformers, grounding, protection and control, and grid-connected/islanded operation.
• Experience with power-system studies using ETAP, SKM, EasyPower or equivalent tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and review of electrical installation packages that meet project requirements, codes, and local jurisdiction.
• Create installation packages detailing fuel cell installation at customer facilities, per NEC and local rules.
• Provide technical support while collaborating with 3rd party microgrid controllers.
• Serve as Engineer of Record for licensed jurisdictions and review design documents, signing/sealing when appropriate.
• Coordinate with remote engineering/drafting teams on design development and AutoCAD deliverables.
