Stantec seeks a Principal, Electrical Engineering to lead the electrical engineering practice in the San Diego area, focusing on client leadership, strategic growth, and technical excellence across projects. You will steer business development and oversee project delivery while maintaining design integrity.

The role requires strong leadership, collaboration across disciplines, and a commitment to quality and sustainability in health, education, and mission-critical facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering as minimum requirement.
• 15+ years related professional experience in engineering and leadership.
• Professional Engineering license is required or preferred.
• PMI-PMP certification is a plus for project leadership.
• LEED AP credential is preferred for sustainability-minded projects.
• Experience with healthcare, higher education, science & technology, and mission-critical facilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical engineering practice in the San Diego area and manage client-facing initiatives.
• Drive business development, growth objectives and strategic plans for the office.
• Oversee project design, delivery, quality control, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
• Mentor, hire, and develop engineering staff and production teams.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and health-sector project requirements.
