Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems seeks a Principal Mechanical Engineer to support the Sentinel program in Roy, UT. The role focuses on EEEE component selection, specification creation, and collaboration with suppliers and manufacturing under strict security controls. Expect work on high-assurance space and missile hardware.

The position requires a STEM degree, 5 years of related experience, and US security clearances (Secret or SAP). On-site work in Roy, Utah is expected, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline and 5 years of experience; 3 years with Master’s; 1 year with PhD.
• Experience with selection and application of EEEE components.
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain US Government Secret clearance and SAP clearance.

Responsibilities

• Select and apply electrical/electronic components for defense systems.
• Create component specifications or source documents to meet program requirements.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and vendors to resolve qualification and test issues on parts and assemblies.
• Review BOMs and part attributes in PLM systems.
• Support supply chain with procurement requirements and supplier selection.
