Job summary

The National Association of Elementary School Principals is seeking a dedicated principal to lead an elementary school in Virginia. The role focuses on instructional leadership, budgeting, policy implementation, and creating a safe, productive learning environment for students, staff, and families.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of instructional process, public relations, school finance, school law, personnel management, administration, supervision, curriculum and educational processes.
• Demonstrates leadership qualities and personal characteristics necessary to work effectively with students, teachers and parents.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, evaluates and provides instructional direction to staff to implement the total curriculum for students.
• Organizes the school to provide an optimum learning environment for curricular and extracurricular programs.
• Assigns duties to assistant principals and other key personnel to maintain daily operations.
• Manages funds to support school programs.
• Provides in-service programs aligned with school and School Board goals.
• Ensures effective public relations and communications within the school and community.
• Evaluates and supervises staff to meet education goals.
• Coordinates central office staff to develop and maintain school programs and services.
• Establishes and maintains effective school discipline.
• Provides extracurricular activities for all students.
• Oversees building and grounds operations and maintenance.
• Leads continuous improvement planning and budget in cooperation with the school advisory council.
• Implements and monitors the division-wide curriculum action plan at the local level.
• Performs responsibilities assigned by the local School Board.
