Job summary

Stafford County Public Schools is seeking an Elementary Principal for an applicant pool in Stafford, VA. The role reports to the Executive Director of Elementary School Leadership and is salaried with the Principal Salary Scale.

The position requires a Master’s degree, Virginia Postgraduate Professional licensure in Administration and Supervision (or eligibility), and at least 3 years of K-12 administrative experience, including at least 1 year in elementary leadership.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution required; substantial experience in excess of requirements combined with meeting other requirements will be considered in lieu of graduate degree
• Three (3) years of successful full‑time experience as an assistant principal or other administrator in a K-12 school
• One (1) year at the elementary school level
• Valid Virginia Postgraduate Professional licensed with an endorsement in Administration and Supervision (or eligibility to obtain same)

Responsibilities

• Establish a strong culture for student and staff to fuel student success
• Develop a clear vision and priorities for the School and align decisions to the SCPS strategic plan
• Design and monitor goals for the School including instructional programs and student achievement
• Assume responsibility for a safe and healthy school environment
• Supervise curriculum and support programs to enhance student education
• Cultivate partnerships with parents and community
• Ensure consistent implementation of the Code of Student Conduct
• Collaborate to evaluate and improve instructional programming
• Supervise co-curricular and extra-curricular programs and attend events
• Keep leadership informed of School activities and celebrate successes
