Job summary

Renesas Electronics Corporation is seeking a Principal EDA/CAD Engineer to provide technical leadership for global engineering compute and design-data-management environments. You will blend hands-on CAD work with governance of Perforce/IPLM-based data, automation, and training to support scalable semiconductor design workflows.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in EDA/CAD engineering or engineering compute environments.
• Strong Linux/Unix knowledge and compute/storage expertise.
• Experience with Perforce Helix or comparable version-control systems.
• IPLM or equivalent IP lifecycle-management experience.
• Proficient in Python and/or shell scripting.
• Excellent troubleshooting and documentation skills.
• Ability to collaborate across engineering and IT groups.
• Experience with semiconductor EDA workflows.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for engineering compute infrastructure and CAD environments.
• Define requirements for compute, storage and data-management infrastructure.
• Own Perforce Helix/IPLM‑based design-data-management methodologies.
• Develop automation for engineering environments and data-management workflows.
• Create reusable project/workspace configurations and onboarding processes.
• Support migrations from legacy environments to Perforce/IPLM-based solutions.
• Document best practices and deliver training for engineering compute teams.
• Contribute to the roadmap for scalable, globally supported infrastructure.
