Job summary

Renesas is seeking an experienced Principal EDA/CAD Engineer to provide technical leadership for our global engineering compute and design-data-management environment. This role blends hands-on CAD engineering with responsibility for Perforce/IPLM-based data management, automation, documentation, and training across distributed teams.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in EDA/CAD engineering or semiconductor design infrastructure.
• Strong Linux/Unix knowledge and experience with engineering compute environments.
• Experience with Perforce Helix (P4) or comparable enterprise version-control/data-management technologies.
• Methodics IPLM or equivalent IP lifecycle-management experience.
• Experience with semiconductor EDA workflows and scripting (Python/shell).
• Excellent troubleshooting, documentation and cross-functional communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for engineering compute infrastructure and CAD environments.
• Support development of global Linux-based engineering environments and infrastructure requirements.
• Own Perforce/IPLM-based design-data-management methodologies and integration with EDA tools.
• Develop scalable project/workspace environments and Cadence configurations.
• Create automation for environments and data-management workflows using Python and shell scripts.
• Produce technical documentation, user guides and training for compute and data-management tools.
• Support transitions from legacy DM platforms to Perforce/IPLM-driven solutions and migrations.
