Job summary

Cloudflare is seeking a Principal Content Engineer to lead content architecture and tooling for our Developer GTM. You will write flagship content across tutorials, runnable demos, and reference architectures, shaping the learning path for developers building on our platform.

You will own editorial standards, establish scalable content pipelines, and mentor a growing team. The role blends writing, systems-building, and strategic thinking in a hybrid work model with NYC/Bay Area-level

Qualifications

• 12+ years at the intersection of technical content, developer education, and software engineering.
• Exceptional technical writing and editing: set a high quality bar across a large body of work.
• Experience building automated content systems, including pipelines, CI checks, freshness/validation tooling, and AI-assisted review or maintenance.
• Content analytics and experimentation chops: measure impact and tie content to outcomes.
• Information architecture and editorial standards experience for a substantial technical site or program.
• Experience guiding a content platform migration or redesign is a plus.
• Knowledge of evaluation frameworks or observability for AI-powered systems is a plus.
• Knowledge of the developer journey and how developers discover, evaluate, and adopt platforms.

Responsibilities

• Own the content architecture for Developer GTM. Define content types, standards, and quality across tutorials, blogs, sample apps, newsletters, and community content.
• Build and run scalable quality systems: self-healing pipelines, AI-assisted review, CI checks, and quality guardrails.
• Write and build flagship content: deep tutorials, reference architectures, and runnable demos on the Developer Platform.
• Drive developer acquisition and activation: partner with Growth, DevRel, Product, and PMM to map content to the journey.
• Be the AI-native edge: develop AI-assisted tooling and guardrails for content discoverability by AI agents.
• Read the industry and translate trends into narratives and content for Cloudflare as the default platform.
• Raise the floor: establish conventions, templates, and tooling; mentor the team.
