Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Chantilly, VA seeks an experienced Principal/Senior Principal Cyber Software Engineer. You will develop software for embedded systems in a dynamic, multi-domain environment, contribute to technical direction, and collaborate with teams to deliver secure solutions.

The role requires TS/SCI with poly eligibility, strong C/C++, Python, and .NET skills, and a track record on Agile teams with RTOS and SDLC experience.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with poly; must be in place at start and remain through employment.
• 5+ years’ experience with a BS in Science; 3 years with MS; 1 year with PhD.
• Proficient in C# and C.
• Experience embedded software development using C/C++.
• Experience with .NET Framework on Windows.
• Experience with Python.
• Experience on Agile teams delivering solutions.
• Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
• Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC).
• Strong problem-solving and collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver software to meet mission partner requirements.
• Develop both user and developer-level documentation.
• Set the team’s technical direction aligned with requirements and roadmap.
• Collaborate to review and improve processes (development, test, governance).
• Communicate project status, roadblocks, proposals to team and stakeholders.
• Prioritize development efforts with mission partners.
• Define complexity, scope, and resources for new requirements.
