Job summary

Amazon Music is seeking a Principal, Content Acquisition I Major Labels to lead global licensing negotiations and strategy within the Record Label Licensing & Strategy Team. You will build relationships with major record labels, forecast business metrics, and evaluate royalty structures.

You will develop content strategies, secure new content and rights, and monitor competition to inform Amazon Music’s growth strategy globally.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in account management, business development, content licensing or finance.
• 8+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Determine (major) record label licensing strategy for new projects and initiatives.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key record labels at decision-making level.
• Negotiate highly complex license agreements to secure rights from record labels, and expand existing agreements as needed.
• Perform analysis to quantify impact of royalty models and negotiated terms globally.
• Collaborate with the legal team to review contractual terms and conditions of licensing agreements.
• Partner with Finance/Content Analytics to evaluate deal terms across service tiers and territories.
• Audit business metrics, perform deep dives to understand root causes and inform decisions.
• Monitor the competitive landscape to guide Amazon Music’s strategic priorities and expansion opportunities.
