Chainguard Containers is our core product, and this team builds it. As Principal Software Engineer in Container Product Engineering you will be the most senior individual contributor on a team of about fifteen engineers, setting the technical direction for the product and leading its largest, most consequential projects from idea to customer.

Qualifications

• 10+ years building software for paying customers and leading multi‑team projects.
• Experience designing Go services and architectures for large-scale systems.
• Strong knowledge of container build, signing, and distribution security.

Responsabilités

• Define the technical direction for Chainguard Containers and its build pipeline.
• Collaborate with engineering and product leaders to form roadmaps and execute them.
• Lead multi‑team projects from concept through production and adoption.
• Review designs and code; mentor Senior engineers to scale leadership.
• Work with AI coding agents and set safe usage standards as volume grows.
• Represent Chainguard in OSS communities and standards discussions.
• Maintain system health through observability and on‑call practices.
