Job summary

Chainguard is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Chainguard Containers. You will design and ship features and services behind Chainguard Containers, owning a project end-to-end with a small team. This is a remote role, with strong emphasis on building secure, AI-assisted tooling and production-grade pipelines.

You will work with Product Managers and customers, decide trade-offs, and contribute to a fast-moving, remote-first team. Strong Go, API design, and cloud skills are valued.

Qualifications

• 3+ years building and operating software used by paying customers.
• Strong fundamentals in Go, API design, databases and caching.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure on GCP or AWS.
• Familiar with containers and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship new features for Chainguard Containers from design to production.
• Own trade-offs on scope, sequencing, and shipping plans; speak up when plans are risky.
• Work with AI coding agents and ensure safe, efficient usage.
• Follow work across teams: help with other services, customer calls, and support tickets.
• Keep systems healthy with observability, on-call, and timely fixes.
