Job Description

The Naval Examination Acquisition Project (NEAP) is seeking a Field Engineer for the Construction and Contracts team to interface with design oversight engineering and subcontractors supporting the project. As NEAP transitions into the detailed design phase this position will work closely with the subcontracted Construction Manager to provide preconstruction services and develop the construction management strategy. This individual may also be involved in developing and managing the commissioning approach. The Field Engineer provides technical knowledge for development and execution of projects without compromising safety, reliability, quality, schedule and cost, as part of a multi-disciplinary project team.


Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill


  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering, science or construction field and a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience;

  • Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering, science or construction field and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience;

  • Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering, science or construction field and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience;

  • Currently a Principal Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field (RPCO) Engineer at the Company.


Preferred Skills


  • Experience in development of technical documents such as specifications, work scopes, alternative options, or contract documents

  • Effective communicator and problem solver

  • Knowledgeable of 29 CFR 1926 OSHA Construction Industry Regulations and Standards

  • Knowledgeable of Building Codes and Standards

  • Experience with planning and executing projects

  • Experience with development/review of cost estimates

  • Experience with software tools, i.e. Autocad, blue beam, MS Office

Pay Range

$106,200.00 - $166,000.00 annually. Salary information provided is a general guideline only. Annual salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.


All candidates must be U.S. citizens. Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. FMP is a government contractor and maintains a drug‑free workplace and workforce. All candidates must be able to pass a drug test in compliance with FMP company policy and 10 CFR 707.
