AT&T is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to design, develop, and operate cloud-native platforms for millions of broadband devices in a large-scale environment. You will own architecture to production operations, with expertise in TR-069 and TR-369, and collaborate across teams to deliver scalable solutions.

You will lead design, APIs, and platform evolution, and work with AWS, Kubernetes, and AI-enabled tooling to boost productivity and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of software engineering experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong expertise in broadband device management technologies (TR-069 CWMP and TR-369 USP).
• Hands-on development experience with Java and/or Python.
• Experience developing cloud-native applications in AWS.
• Experience with Kubernetes, containers, microservices, REST APIs, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and drive initiatives with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy, and support cloud-native platforms for millions of devices.
• Develop scalable applications, APIs, and microservices.
• Lead design and evolution of broadband device management solutions (TR-069/TR-369).
• Build and operate highly available solutions on AWS and Kubernetes.
• Improve platform reliability via automation, observability, CI/CD, testing, and DevOps practices.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and participate in on-call support.
• Leverage AI to accelerate development, testing, and operations.
• Collaborate with product, architecture, security, and vendor teams.
