Job summary

AT&T is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to design and operate large-scale broadband device management platforms in public cloud environments. You will own end-to-end architecture, development, deployment, and production operations, applying TR-069 (CWMP) and TR-369 (USP) with a strong emphasis on AI-enhanced software delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of software engineering experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong expertise in broadband device management technologies, including TR-069 (CWMP) and TR-369 (USP).
• Hands-on development experience with Java and/or Python.
• Experience developing cloud-native applications in AWS.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy, and support cloud-native platforms that manage millions of connected broadband devices.
• Develop scalable applications, APIs, and microservices using modern software engineering practices.
• Lead technical design, architecture, and platform evolution for broadband device management solutions leveraging TR-069 (CWMP) and TR-369 (USP).
• Build and operate highly available solutions on AWS and Kubernetes.
• Improve platform reliability through automation, observability, CI/CD, testing, and DevOps best practices.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and participate in on-call support.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to accelerate development, testing, monitoring, operational support, and engineering productivity.
• Collaborate with product, architecture, security, operations, and vendor teams to deliver business-critical capabilities.
