Job summary

Elastic is seeking a Principal Software Engineer for the Billing Core domain. You will own complex billing and account management systems spanning multiple services and cloud providers, and drive architecture, data pipelines, and reliability initiatives.

You will design scalable solutions, mentor engineers, and collaborate with Product, SRE, and Cloud Infrastructure teams to improve deployment, observability, and CI/CD practices in a global, async environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in backend or platform engineering.
• Strong Python and PostgreSQL expertise.
• Experience with SaaS billing or financial systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own complex billing and account management systems across services.
• Build large-scale data pipelines for billing data ingestion.
• Improve observability, incident response, and reliability.
• Mentor engineers and set technical direction.
• Collaborate with Product, SRE, and Cloud teams to set roadmap.
