Job summary

Cloudflare is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for the Billing Engineering Team in the United States. You will lead engineers to build and maintain the billing and payments infrastructure, driving scalable financial systems that support billions in revenue and millions of customers.

You will mentor engineers, shape technical direction across product, finance, data science, and operations, and ensure delivery with high reliability in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team or multiple teams of senior and staff engineers.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams, driving alignment, and clearly creating and communicating technical direction for large cross-company efforts.
• Comfortable leading and hiring a team that builds the backend systems and frontend parts of the product.
• Excel at planning, creating teams and overseeing execution to meet commitments and deliver with predictability.
• Comfortable building developer-loved APIs that scale.
• Demonstrate a track record of leading a team including hiring, on-boarding, and professional development.
• You inspire your team to reach higher.
• You’re as good as explaining "why" as you are "how".
• Experience implementing tools, process, internal instrumentation, methodologies and resolving blockages.
• Comfortable managing teams/projections with tight deadlines and short release cycles.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers building and maintaining Cloudflare’s billing and payments infrastructure.
• Oversee development of scalable, high-reliability financial infrastructure handling Cloudflare’s revenue.
• Drive execution of complex technical initiatives to ensure resilience, scalability and future-proofing.
• Mentor and grow a high-performing engineering team and align decisions with business objectives.
