Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems for mission-focused environments. The role emphasizes backend development, data engineering, and API work with Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, and high-speed integrations.

The candidate will design scalable services, manage large data sets, and ensure robust performance in mission-critical contexts.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.
• Backend developer experience.
• Experience in data engineering and API development.
• Experience building scalable systems with Python and FastAPI.
• Experience designing PostgreSQL databases with efficient SQL and indexing.
• Proficiency in Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch.
• Experience building high-performance API connections in mission-critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems and analytics.
• Provide input on software component design and requirements.
• Design, implement, and integrate software applications.
• Apply appropriate software engineering methodologies to development and production environments.
• Ensure efficient delivery of software capabilities using standard processes.
• Mitigate risks and manage large-scale, integrated software projects.
• Review and test components and document results.
