Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Software Engineer Level 4 to develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems supporting mission-focused environments. The role focuses on backend development with Python and FastAPI, plus PostgreSQL database design and high-speed integrations across data-sensitive systems.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive backend and data engineering experience, API development expertise, and a proven ability to deliver scalable solutions in mission-critical

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.
• Backend developer experience.
• Data engineering and API development experience.
• Experience with Python and FastAPI.
• Experience designing and managing PostgreSQL databases with indexing.
• Experience with Elasticsearch.
• Experience building high-performance API connections between high-speed, high-volume, mission-critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems, including analytics, large data sets, real-time systems.
• Provide input to software component design including trade-offs and reuse.
• Design, implement, and integrate software applications or perform software engineering tasks.
• Use software engineering methodologies appropriate to the environment.
• Ensure efficient delivery of software capabilities using standards and repeatable processes.
• Mitigate risks, control costs and schedule variance on large-scale projects.
• Review and test components for adherence to design and document results.
