Job summary

Base-2 Solutions seeks a Software Engineer Level 4 to develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems supporting mission-focused environments. The role emphasizes backend development, data engineering, and API development using Python and FastAPI, with PostgreSQL databases and high‑performance integrations.

You will design scalable services, review components, and work across teams to deliver robust software in data-sensitive, high‑volume contexts.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.
• Backend development experience.
• Data engineering and API development experience.
• Experience with Python and FastAPI.
• PostgreSQL database design and indexing proficiency.
• Proficiency in Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch.
• Experience building high-performance API connections.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems, including analytics, real-time systems, and data-heavy applications.
• Contribute to software component design, including trade-offs and requirements analysis.
• Design, implement, and integrate software applications and tasks.
• Apply engineering practices suitable for development, integration, and production environments.
• Ensure timely delivery of software capabilities using standard processes.
• Mitigate risks, manage costs and schedules for large-scale projects.
• Review and test components and document results.
