Job summary

Ford Motor Company, through Ford Pro Intelligence, seeks a Principal Engineer to drive architectural vision and build data-intensive SaaS platforms, APIs, and frontends for fleet management. You will lead multi-team initiatives, set coding standards, and deliver scalable backend services and customer-facing tools.

You will mentor engineers, align with product leadership, and steer complex projects from design through production, ensuring high reliability and performance in a high-scale SaaS

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience with leadership/architectural responsibility.
• Experience designing and building scalable, data-intensive web apps and SaaS products.
• Proven API development experience in Java/Kotlin and modern front-end frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Architect and drive the technical roadmap for large-scale SaaS apps across teams.
• Mentor engineers and establish scalable engineering practices.
• Partner with Product/Design/Business to translate needs into architectural designs.
• Scope, estimate, and plan enterprise initiatives with architectural blueprints.
• Lead hands-on development of core components, ensuring code quality and reliability.
• Drive improvement in tooling, patterns, and deployment practices.
