Job summary

Ford Motor Company’s Ford Pro division seeks a Principal Engineer/Architect to drive architectural vision for data-intensive SaaS platforms, APIs, and frontends. You will lead multi-team efforts, define data pipelines, and guide cloud-native deployments across a high-scale environment.

You will mentor engineers, shape product strategy with leadership, and ensure scalable, reliable delivery while advancing internal tooling and patterns.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience in a technical leadership and architectural role.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years designing and building scalable, data-intensive web applications and SaaS products.
• 5+ years API development with Java/Kotlin and frontend frameworks like React or AngularJS.
• 5+ years with relational databases (PostgreSQL), NoSQL, and high-volume data pipelines.
• Proven leadership across engineering teams and scalable practices in Agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and drive the technical roadmap for large-scale, data-intensive SaaS applications across multiple teams.
• Mentor engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
• Partner with Product, Design, and Business leadership to translate requirements into scalable architectural designs.
• Scope, estimate, and provide blueprints and capacity planning for multi-quarter initiatives.
• Lead hands-on development of core architectural components and deployments with a focus on reliability and quality.
• Elevate engineering standards by proposing new tooling, patterns, and processes.
• Serve as escalation point for incidents, lead RCA, and drive defect prevention initiatives.
