Ford Pro Telematics is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead architectural vision and build data-intensive web applications and APIs for fleet management. You will guide back-end services, pipelines, and frontends at scale in a SaaS environment, mentoring teams and shaping platform strategy.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering with technical leadership experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent.
• 5+ years building scalable, data-intensive web apps and SaaS products.
• 5+ years API development with Java or Kotlin and modern frontend frameworks.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases and high-volume data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Architect and drive the technical roadmap for large-scale SaaS applications across teams.
• Mentor and coach engineers, fostering technical excellence and learning.
• Partner with Product/Design to translate requirements into scalable designs.
• Scope, estimate, and blueprint multi-quarter enterprise initiatives.
• Lead hands-on development of core architectural components and projects.
• Raise engineering standards with new tooling and patterns.
• Lead incident analysis and proactive defect prevention across the stack.
