Job summary

JPMorganChase seeks a Principal Architect to drive cloud-based payment technologies, shaping architecture strategy and AI adoption across the firm. You will align with business and tech leaders to advance digital onboarding, merchant services, and API ecosystems on web and mobile.

You will guide enterprise roadmaps, ensure security and scalability, and act as a trusted adviser to engineering and leadership in a complex, global environment.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on architecture concepts with 10+ years applied experience.
• Experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operations at enterprise scale.
• Strategic mindset for digital transformation in payments, onboarding, and developer experience.
• Deep knowledge of web/mobile frameworks, API design/governance, and security controls.
• Proficiency in AI capabilities within architecture and engineering workflows with data sensitivity awareness.
• Ability to present complex concepts to senior leaders and executives.

Responsibilities

• Advise teams on technology selection to reach target-state architecture and modernize tech.
• Develop multi-year roadmaps aligned with business strategy and digital goals for payments and onboarding.
• Apply enterprise AI capabilities within architecture, with governance and human-in-the-loop validation.
• Establish AI-enabled engineering patterns and governance across the SDLC and toolchains.
• Define and govern API standards, design, frameworks, and integration patterns.
• Create scalable coding frameworks emphasizing reuse and quality across teams.
• Develop secure production code and review others' code for excellence.
• Serve as SME and contribute to advanced technical methods across domains.
