Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Principal Architect to lead cloud-based eCommerce payment technology strategy. You will shape architecture platforms powering global merchant acquiring, online checkout, and gateway design, collaborating with business and technology leaders to transform digital payments.

You will drive multi-year roadmaps, emphasize AI-enabled architectures, and ensure governance, security, and scalability across the ecosystem. Strong senior leadership communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on architecture concepts.
• Hands-on design and deployment experience in eCommerce or merchant acquiring payment systems.
• Deep knowledge of eCommerce payment flows and gateway architecture.
• Strong experience with RESTful and event-driven API design for payments.
• Experience applying AI within architecture workflows with data sensitivity in mind.
• Proven ability to lead product-oriented initiatives with clear roadmaps.
• Knowledge of cloud, AI/ML, and mobile within payments context.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts to executives.

Responsibilities

• Advise stakeholders on design approaches, technology choices, and target state architecture for global eCommerce merchant payment platforms.
• Develop multi-year roadmaps aligned with eCommerce payment strategy (checkout optimization, gateway modernization, onboarding, and developer experience).
• Apply enterprise AI capabilities to accelerate architecture analysis with human-in-the-loop validation and data protection.
