Job summary

ELOS Environmental, LLC seeks a Lead Archaeologist - Principal Investigator in Hammond, LA with hybrid-remote duties. You will supervise Phase I-III fieldwork, prepare NEPA/NHPA reports, and lead technical writing while coordinating with SHPO/THPO and agencies.

You'll mentor staff, manage budgets, and ensure QA/QC standards across cultural resources projects, with primary fieldwork on an as-needed basis and most work conducted remotely.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Archaeology or Anthropology plus 2 years of equivalent training and professionally supervised experience.
• Minimum of eight (8) years of archaeology fieldwork experience, with supervisory/administrative responsibilities.
• Knowledge of NEPA, NHPA, ARPA, and NAGPRA is a bonus and required to meet standards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate NHPA, ARPA, NAGPRA, NEPA, and other cultural resources regulations.
• Lead authorship of technical reports, research designs, and project documentation.
• Oversee archaeological fieldwork (Phase I-III) and monitoring.
• Manage project budgets and staff allocations.
• Prepare high-quality technical reports and agency coordination deliverables.
