Environmental Resources Management (ERM) is seeking a Principal Consultant, Archaeologist to lead cultural resources programs across the United States from a US ERM office. You will guide complex projects, mentor staff, strengthen client relationships, and drive growth in environmental and sustainability consulting.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, project delivery, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams in energy and infrastructure sectors, with travel to field sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or related field
• 6-8 years of related paid experience
• Registered Professional Archaeologist (RPA) with SHPO requirements
• Field leadership and oversight for inventory/survey/testing/data recovery
• Experience authoring or reviewing agency-reviewed technical reports (NEPA, etc.)
• Experience with regulatory agency interactions as consultant

Responsabilités

• Serve as a permitted BLM Principal Investigator.
• Obtain BLM Cultural Resources Use Permits and other required permits.
• Provide QA/QC on deliverables prepared by archaeologists.
• Oversee desktop studies and field investigations (surveys, testing, excavations).
• Lead, supervise, mentor archaeologists and support hiring/training.
• Coordinate with cultural resources leaders to support project delivery.
• Act as signing Principal Investigator or Task Manager for cultural resources studies.
• Ensure safety, scope, budget, schedule, and quality compliance.
• Support multi-state infrastructure projects and cross-sell services.
