Job summary

ERM is seeking a Principal Consultant, Archaeologist to join our Cultural Resources Services team and lead complex projects from a US office. You will guide project delivery, mentor archaeologists, strengthen client relationships, and help expand ERM’s leadership in environmental and sustainability consulting across the United States.

Responsibilities include field leadership, QA/QC of reports, obtaining permits, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or related field.
• 6–8 years paid archaeology experience.
• RPA with SHPO qualifications or equivalent.
• Field oversight of inventories, surveys, testing, or data recovery.
• Experience authoring or reviewing agency reports (NEPA, Class I/III).
• Ability to travel to field sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Sign as Principal Investigator on cultural resources studies.
• Obtain BLM/Nepa permits and other required authorizations.
• Provide QA/QC review of deliverables from archaeologists.
• Oversee desktop studies and field investigations.
• Lead and mentor archaeologists across experience levels.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
