Job summary

Palo Alto Networks is seeking an experienced software engineer to design and build scalable AI security products. You will own features end-to-end, collaborating with product managers, frontend teams and infra to shape our AI security offerings.

The role requires 10+ years of distributed systems experience, cloud familiarity with GCP/AWS/Azure, and strong ownership and communication skills. The position is on-site with flexible work arrangements and a market-based salary.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience designing large distributed systems.
• Hands-on programming in Java, Go, Python or equivalent languages.
• Experience with GCP, AWS or Azure.
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases (Postgres, MySQL, Spanner, BigQuery, MongoDB, etc.).
• Experience with Graph databases (Neo4j).
• Experience with messaging systems (RabbitMQ, Kafka or PubSub).
• Experience with microservices architecture (Kubernetes, Docker, Serverless).
• Self-disciplined, self-motivated, and strong ownership and delivery drive.
• Experience partnering with Product Managers and frontend engineers.
• Experience leading large end-to-end projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and build innovative, scalable software products for AI security.
• Own features end-to-end from definition to production-ready delivery.
• Collaborate with PMs, frontend engineers, designers, and infra to shape AI security offerings.
• Operate production services with enterprise customers ensuring reliability and performance.
• Develop expertise in new technologies and evolving AI security landscape.
• Mentor junior engineers and uphold high standards of development.
