Job summary

Palo Alto Networks is seeking a Principal Software Engineer for the Prisma AIRS Runtime Security team. You will partner with leadership, product, UX, ML, and other engineers to design and deliver enterprise-grade AI security solutions that scale and perform at high throughput.

You will guide architectural direction, mentor engineers, and ensure best practices across backend services and agentic workflows in a rapidly evolving space.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field with 10+ years of experience, or Master’s with 8+ years.
• Deep domain expertise designing scalable distributed systems with Python or Golang.
• Proven track record designing enterprise microservices and high-throughput APIs.
• Experience architecting cloud-native solutions (GCP preferred), databases, and observability.
• Ability to drive consensus, solve ambiguous problems, and mentor engineers.
• Hands-on experience with multi-agent workflows or orchestration.
