Job summary

Palo Alto Networks is seeking a Principal Backend Engineer to join our Cortex backend team, focusing on Cortex products including XSOAR, XSIAM, and AI solutions. Design and implement robust backend services in Go and Python for Cortex deployments.

You will collaborate across squads to ship scalable security software, tackle complex problems, and drive real impact for thousands of customers in a hybrid office model.

Qualifications

• MS/BS in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• 5+ years Go and Python programming.
• 7+ years production troubleshooting for on-prem and SaaS.
• Cloud platforms (GCP/AWS/Azure) experience.
• Kubernetes and Docker familiarity.
• Linux/Unix (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) proficiency.
• Experience with AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead full lifecycle backend development for Cortex XSOAR on-prem and SaaS.
• Collaborate across teams to shape solutions and integrations.
• Provide real-time mitigation and production issue resolution.
• Engage with customers and support teams to troubleshoot.
