Job summary

Mastercard is seeking a Principal, AI Security Engineer to define and lead the enterprise AI security architecture strategy and governance. You will oversee secure design, evaluation of AI tech, and remediation across large-scale AI deployments, partnering with engineering and security teams to embed security-by-design across the AI lifecycle.

The role requires senior-level expertise in AI security, threat modeling, and governance, with strong communication skills for executive stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS, InfoSec, AI, or related field.
• Extensive experience leading enterprise AI security and architecture initiatives.
• Deep expertise in AI tech, ML systems, LLMs, data protection, and secure software practices.
• Proven ability to define security strategy and governance for complex environments.
• Strong ability to influence direction and drive security standards across teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management at senior levels.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, OSCP, GIAC desirable.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead enterprise AI security architecture strategy and standards.
• Provide governance for secure AI solution implementations across units.
• Evaluate emerging AI tech to identify risks and mitigations.
• Lead security assessments, red team and pentest efforts on AI models and infra.
• Drive remediation and risk reduction in large-scale AI deployments.
• Establish security requirements across AI lifecycle and collaborate with teams.
• Present findings and strategic security recommendations to leadership.
