Job summary

Mastercard seeks a Principal AI Platform Engineer to build and scale the AI infrastructure underpinning our enterprise AI workloads. The role leads the on‑prem private cloud strategy, coordinates RFIs/RFPs, and partners with data science and platform teams to enable scalable training and real‑time inference across global workloads.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or related engineering field is required.
• Significant experience with large-scale infrastructure or platform engineering in a complex enterprise.
• Experience owning infrastructure roadmaps and delivering in private cloud/on‑prem environments.
• Knowledge of AI/ML concepts, data science workflows, MLOps, and model lifecycle.
• Familiarity with Generative AI architectures and enterprise infrastructure needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead AI infrastructure roadmap for Mastercard's on‑premise private cloud and lifecycle management.
• Act as product owner for AI infrastructure, translating data science needs into scalable platforms.
• Lead RFIs/RFPs for AI infra components and drive vendor evaluation decisions.
• Architect scalable infra for training large models and low-latency inference across workloads.
• Collaborate with data science, MLOps, security, and governance teams to align requirements.
